Hello doll lovers, crafters and miniature enthusiasts!
Today I have a colorful post for you. I know it’s been a while since my last article, but I took a much needed break from this space. The lack of inspiration and time was mostly the reason for this break. I gave myself some time to think about new ideas and what I want to show you on this blog.
But enough of that.
Today I have something very pretty to show you. I bought some doll furniture from an etsy shop called @ulicazelazna. I’ve known @ulicazelazna from instagram for quite some time and I was always mesmerized by her designs. I love to craft stuff for my dolls, including furniture. Crafting is one of the most relaxing things for me, but sometimes, I don’t have time to do it, as much as I would love to. Last year, when we had our 2 moths lockdown I had plenty of time to do that, but as we slowly return to work and other daily responsibilities, crafting is something I get to do only on my free time, when I also have to take care of the house, face a pile of laundry, cook and so on.
So, it’s safe to say that this year I decided to take a look at what Etsy has to offer me and God knows, I wasn’t disappointed when I saw how many incredible artists you can find there. I think it’s also very important to support artisans because I know how much love they put into their creations. How do I know that? Because in my first university years, I used to make and sell handmade necklaces (see the picture down below), and I know how much love and soul goes into a handmade object. I used to go to handmade fairs and I even took part into an exhibition for handmade artisans at my university. Huh, that was a lovely thing to remember.
Now, back to the doll world.
One of these artists is Aleksandra (Ola), the creator behind @ulicazelazna Etsy shop and instagram account. This is actually my second time buying from her and certainly not the last, because I absolutely love her designs. She has a wide range of doll furniture, especially beds, armchairs and sofas in different styles and fabrics. When I made the moodboard for my spring dioramas this is what I was looking for – bold colors, florals, pastels. The craftsmanship is exquisite. The size is perfect for 1:6th scale dolls. There’s not a single thing that I can complain about. I absolutely love that her furniture comes in different styles, so whether you like a more romantic style or a more modern look, you can definitely find something suitable for your taste, in her shop. For this spring season, I went for a more romantic and girly look as you can see. I often say that I would love to have a magic wand to transform doll furniture into life size furniture because I would love to have a floral set like the one I bought for my dolls, in our actual living room. I’m not so sure my boyfriend would agree on that but hey, we could make it work, haha. But at least my dolls can have beautiful new furniture every season.
Aleksandra really knows how to take care of her customers. I wanted a turqoise armchair so much, to match the console table that I made, so I asked her if she can make this custom armchair for me. Not only she brought my vision to life, but she made this for me as a gift, without asking for anything in return, which is something I can’t even describe without becoming emotional. Thinking that someone I didn’t met in real life would do this for me is simply mind blowing. I am so grateful for this armchair and I want to thank her once again for this beautiful and thoughtful gift. She definitely made my spring better. And if you like my turqoise armchair as much as I do, you can have it too because it’s now available for purchase on her Etsy page. If you’re looking for perfectly made doll furniture, I totally recommend you to visit her shop and take a look at her designs. I’m sure you’ll fall in love just like I did. I will put the link to her Esty shop here – https://www.etsy.com/shop/ulicazelazna. But enough words, I think that a picture can speak 1000 words, so I hope you like this colorful photoshoot. My mini me was really helpful in this whole process and seeing all these prints and colors together makes me really happy.
I wish you all a beautiful Sunday and a wonderful new week!
See you next time!
Lots of love,
